Wake down

Wake Forest lost tonight. There went my bracket. They played like KU at the end there. Yeah, i had them winning the National Title. Alas, i still love the tourney.

Video games are getting really high-tech (see NBA Live 2005). The idea of a slam dunk contest is sweet. If only i could do a dunk without watching tutorials. Alas, maybe it's cuz i'm white.

Seeing Topeka's new theatres sitting on the hill today made me remember this recounting of one visit to West Ridge 8.

Poor Man's Theatre

No melted butter greased up already
Auto-mechanic-looking fingernails.
No glorified cough medicine or juice
Dehydrated a well-watered palate.
Welcome to the fourth row, counting backwards.
All alone, with arms outstretched, adjacent
Seats silently forbidden to lovers.
Sandaled feet rest on what were once armrests.
"It's dark. Can you see? He's waving, the fool."
Two rows up, frequently drunk teens loudly
Spoke of things private. They wore trucker hats.
"Isn't this too close? No neck craning for
me. One back. How 'bout two? Now over. There
Is a guy! Sorry sir. My silly friend..."
A small plane approaches, something whirs.
Just a projector. Live entertainers
left long ago. The Poor Man's Theatre
Dries up pockets. Teenagers' don't dry out.
Through a spy glass, bulging eyes claim divine
sight. "Blasphemy! Bring new advertisements!"

I'm tired. Today went well though...how bout $105 Nate? Thats always a good deal...you might be needing the money soon though. And i'm not talking about college. Oh snap!
