Pre-draft jitters
In 1.25 hours i have my first (and it turns out only) live fantasy baseball draft of the year. Unfortunately i missed the other because i was driving up to Wheaton (well worth it...plus my bro probably drafted me a better team than i would have). The preparation and projections made prior to a fantasy baseball draft are always pretty entertaining to look back on in October. Some guy who never plays a game of the season usually gets drafted in the first couple rounds, and some stellar All-Stars won't get drafted...we really have no idea what will happen, that's what makes it so great. Yet i still spend lots of time pouring over the ESPN Insider fantasy baseball draft kit and numerous articles by so-called fantasy experts (aka geeks...especially eric karabell)
Today at school two of our teachers were gone and apparently were unable to get subs. And apparently the administration decided not even to bother supervising us because they feel we are trustworthy, which we are when compared to the other classes. That is to say we won;t break anything or be destructive, btu we certainly weren't productive or constructive. In Ancient Lit we reminisced on 8th grade and looked at ancient basketball pictures (we are talkin 1990, guys-shorts-to-make-you-puke style). Our class follows the teachings of Machiavelli...it is better to appear trustworthy than to actually be trustworthy...then you get to reap all the benefits while having the freedom to deceive...mwahahaha. Machiavelli rocked in the same way that movies like Ocean's 11 rock...you just wish you were allowed to do what he did because it's just so dang cool.
Today i also found my creative writing notebook from last year and had some good times reading about how girls are like can openers, the rebellion of black ballpoint pens, phatic devices containing homosexual acts, and much much more. Expect some of those prompts to make it in the ole blog in the future. That's what i got for now...if i get bored in the 20-something rounds of the draft, i will update.
